Food allergies and intolerances for school bookings, groups or organizations

The increase in cases of food allergies and intolerances in recent years has led to the introduction of new regulations and legislation aimed at protecting the health of individuals who need to control the consumption of certain foods.

In this regard, Xanascat has developed and implemented a protocol which, firstly, establishes basic preventive and safety measures to minimise the risk of contact with each individual’s allergens during mealtimes and, secondly, provides dietary and nutritional support based on specific dietary requirements.

Any allergy, intolerance or special dietary requirement must be notified to the hostel using the following documents:

  • Statement of Responsibility. This must be completed and submitted by the person responsible for the school group.
  • Allergy Information Form. This must be completed by the parent or legal guardian of any child or young person with allergies or intolerances.

The deadline for submitting the relevant information to the hostel by email is:

  • 15 days before the start of your stay

This protocol applies to:

Standardised allergies and intolerances:

  1. Legume-free
  2. Gluten-free
  3. Egg-free
  4. Fish- and shellfish-free
  5. Cow’s milk protein-free, including beef
  6. Cow’s milk protein-free, excluding beef
  7. Lactose-free
  8. Nut-free

Non-standardised allergies and intolerances:

  • Other allergies/intolerances or medical conditions not covered under the standardised categories
  • Multiple allergies: for example, egg-free and nut-free

Dietary requirements for medical, religious, ethical, moral or other reasons:
