National and social progress by working together

At the Catalan Youth Agency all our efforts are geared towards the national and social progress of Catalonia.

The hostels in the National Network of Social Hostels of Catalonia are our main points of contact and basic tools for promoting tourism, education, the comprehensive development of young people, associations and social wellbeing. They also enable us to convey knowledge about Catalonia’s territorial and geographical situation.

We are driven by values which help to build a community whose cornerstones are tolerance, respect for each other, safeguarding the environment and harmonious living.

We run programmes in our hostels which allow people to explore the history, culture and natural environment of places in Catalonia.

We also empower young people to be self-sufficient by offering them the option of seasonal stays featuring fun and educational activities and approaches.

Additionally we seek to champion Catalonia’s associations, so we provide all the means we have available to support them and ensure they have suitable facilities, venues and activities available for the work they do.

As we said, tolerance and respect are core values for the CYA. Hence we conduct programmes aimed at groups requiring special public care, and in particular children and teens with special physical or mental needs or who are from immigrant families.
