In 2017, Xanascat joined the ‘Friends of Animals’ programme, an initiative created in conjunction with the Foundation for Advice and Action in Defence of Animals (FAADA). What does this programme consist of? It's very simple: the goal is to normalise pets’ access to public spaces and promote a kind of social tourism that watches over animals’ physical and emotional health.

All dogs are welcome

With these two goals in mind, we have implemented three main measures which affect all our hostels with the exception of Barcelona, Lleida, Girona and the AFFILIATED hostels. To begin with, you can now come to the hostels with your dog!* But that's not all: now Xanascat guarantees that all the activities it proposes are totally respectful of animals, and some hostels have also included vegan meals in our dining options. Now you can savour a nutritious option that contains no animal-based food.

Running freely

To facilitate dogs’ access and overnight stays, we have set up pens measuring around 100 m2 with shade trees and fences 1.5 metres tall in the hostels in Planoles and Cabrera de Mar, pioneers in this programme. These spaces are periodically cleaned and disinfected, and waste bins have been installed where you can dispose of their excrement. The animals should be on leash outside the pens. They must also be chipped, and their documents must be turned in when you arrive at the hostel.

Good night!

Pets are also allowed to enter and sleep in the bedrooms. For their comfort, we recommend bringing a drinking bowl and a dog bed. Make sure that they do not get on the beds or damage the furniture in the room.

Because the hostels are animal-friendly, if anyone has an allergy to dogs, please notify the management so they can give you an appropriate room to ensure that you have no problems. Have a great stay!

A comfortable, pleasant stay for everyone!

If you want to travel with your dog to the Xanascat hostels, the cost of the stay is only 4.50 euros per day. But first you have to call the reservation centre to find out of there are available places. The animals may not be left alone in the rooms except during meals. In this case, please hang a sign from the doorknob stating that they are in the room. If they are breeds that are considered potentially dangerous, they must always be on leash and wearing a muzzle in the hostel’s communal indoor and outdoor spaces.
