L’Escala Xanascat: Nature, heritage and tramuntana winds.
The village of L’Escala is located in the spot chosen by the first Greeks who reached the Iberian Peninsula: a privileged location lapped by the waters of the Costa Brava. The hostel is strategically located so you can easily reach the archaeology sites in Empúries and Ullastret, as well as the castles of Requesens and Montgrí; the monasteries of Sant Pere de Rodes, Sant Quirze de Colera and Santa Maria de Vilabertran; and fortresses like the one at Sant Ferran castle.
The nature around it makes it easy and allows you to engage in water sports like kite surfing, wind sailing, diving and even skydiving and indoor skydiving for the more daring. Plus, the region also offers the chance to take hikes or bicycle rides and discover areas like the Aiguamolls de l’Empordà wetlands, the Montgrí massif, the Albera and Rodes mountains and Cap de Creus.
