Family activities and mountain routes for all levels
The first thing that may surprise you in La Vall d’en Bas is the contrast between the plains and the mountain: the centre of the valley is located just 440 above sea level, while Puigsacalm, which is visible from most points in the valley, rises up 1,515 metres and is the highest peak in the county.
At the same time, the valley is surrounded by rivers and waterfalls, like the Sallent, Coromina and Roure. And in the centre are hectare upon hectare of crop lands, which vary widely from one end of the municipality to the other.
And if you prefer urban tourism, you’ll find seven villages in the valley that still conserve their old-time charm: Sant Esteve d’en Bas, Els Hostalets d’en Bas, Joanetes, Puigpardines, El Mallol, Sant Privat d’en Bas and La Pinya.
