Respectful agriculture and local menu

The La Vall d’en Bas hostel offers a breakfast, lunch and dinner service (the latter only for groups of 15 or more).

Our products

Whenever we can, the ingredients in the salads on our table have been grown on the same farm where the food is made; they farm respectfully, primariliy using manual labour and virtually no pesticides.

The food is harvested every morning in the garden and goes through a hygiene and disinfection process to make it suitable for consumption, in fulfilment of the regulations in force.

We purchase our desserts, mainly fruit and dairy, less than 10 km from the hostel, where they are consumed. The dairy products are from La Fageda, a non-profit Catalan social cooperative whose mission is to integrate individuals from La Garrotxa with severe psychological disabilities or mental disorders into the job market.

All the meals come with bread baked in the local bakery, the oil is mechanically-extracted extra-virgin olive oil and the salt is iodised.
