Heritage, history and rural life in L’Espluga de Francolí
The L’Espluga de Francolí Xanascat hostel is located in the county of Conca de Barberà, specifically in an area known as Les Masies, which is at the foot of the Prades Mountains and inside the Poblet monastery Landscape of National Interest. In other words, the L’Espluga hostel is rich in nature and rural life. Plus, we are very close to some of the most important architectural and historical heritage sites in Catalonia, namely the Poblet monastery, just 1 km away, and the mediaeval town of Montblanc, 8 km away.
The hostel’s building was constructed in the late nineteenth century, and if you visit it you’ll find a brief exhibition on part of its history. The hostel has three levels: the first one houses the leisure areas, car park and swimming pool; the second one wraps around the inner courtyard, where the workshops are located; and the third one has a terrace, the entrances to some of the rooms, the dining room and the reception.
