La Vall d’en Bas: A gateway to the Pyrenees
La Vall d’en Bas is located right between central Catalonia and the Pyrenees. It is a site measuring just 91 km2 with almost 3,000 residents which is part of La Garrotxa, a gateway to the Pyrenees.
Not too many years ago, our valley was hardly known, but the improvements in transport routes have brought us closer to Barcelona and, by extension, the rest of the world.
Today, La Vall d’en Bas is one of the main tourist hotspots in La Garrotxa and the Catalan Pyrenees foothills, and all types of people come here to discover the waterfalls in our rivers, the family-friendly walks along the greenway, mountain bike routes and the forests and mountains around us.
